Coldwell Banker Commercial
Tomlinson

## Our Heritage: A Focus on Commercial Real Estate C. Verne Tomlinson, a dedicated Washington farmer, witnessed the economic downturn of the Great Depression in 1938, which caused crop prices to plummet. Recognizing a new opportunity amidst the crisis, he sold his farm and established a real estate company specializing in farm and ranch properties. In 1948, Verne's son, William R. (Bill) Tomlinson, joined the company, quickly establishing himself as a leading farm and ranch specialist. By 1968, Bill's son, Robert H. (Bob) Tomlinson, joined the family business. Bob recognized that much of the farmland's highest and best use had shifted from agriculture to commercial and residential development. He took the reins in 1971, steering the company toward increasing the region's housing and commercial property stock. The company's first branch opened in Clarkston, WA, in 1972. In 1976, Tomlinson merged with Alvin J. Wolff companies, cementing its position as the number one real estate company in the Spokane market. The early 1980s brought significant economic challenges, especially for the real estate industry. Despite these obstacles, Tomlinson identified opportunities for expansion through strategic mergers with Spokane companies like Coldwell Banker Feldman Person and the William Main Company. These moves strengthened our presence in the commercial real estate market. Throughout the early 1990s, Tomlinson expanded into North Idaho by acquiring several independent companies, establishing a solid foothold in Coeur d'Alene, Sandpoint, and surrounding communities. In the mid-1990s, Tomlinson merged with James S. Black, transforming into Tomlinson Black and further enhancing our commercial real estate services. In the mid-2000s, Tomlinson merged with Coldwell Banker Aspen and Holland Realty in Boise, Idaho, and acquired a company in Kennewick, Washington. The 2007 partnership with Realogy provided access to powerful national brands, including Coldwell Banker, reinforcing our commercial real estate capabilities across Eastern Washington. Today, we proudly serve Eastern Washington, Moses Lake, Tri-Cities, Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston, Clarkston, the Greater Boise area, and the Greater Idaho Falls area. Our focus on commercial real estate continues to drive our growth and commitment to our communities. We look forward to serving and enhancing these communities, making them better places to live and do business, year after year.
